The items listed are suggestions to help make the transition as smooth as possible.

Dogs and puppies love dens. Its important to have a kennel ready before picking up your new puppy. This gives them a safe and cozy area when supervision cant be given. It also gives them their own personal space to enjoy.  We recommend at least a 30 inch cage.  They need just enough space to be comfortable. The bigger the cage the most likely the puppy will take longer to crate train.

Toys help keep a puppy busy. We recommend rope toys and kongs. Please make sure you supervise at all times. Make sure all toys are free of parts that can be chewed off. Nylabones are also a great toy. Snuffle mats make for great mental stimulation.

Pet beds can be hard to launder. Instead of a pet bed in their crate we suggest using a crate tray cover.  These are so much easier and no need to worry about the puppy tearing them up. We at Paw Print Farms make our own crate tray covers. For treats we recommend Milk Bones. Never give the chicken jerky as it can be hard to digest and can cause digestive blockages. We recommend holding off on treats until the puppy is around 12 weeks old.

This is a must have. We buy the ones with a grate. We line the bottom with a pee pad and sprinkle the pine pellets on top. Then we place the grate on top and snap it back together. This keeps the puppy from digging the pee pad and is very sanitary. Amazon or local pet stores carry them.  The goal is to have them pottying outside but when they are young we need to give them a authorized space to potty.
