A pet health certificate is an official document that your veterinarian fills out after performing a thorough exam on your pet. The document certifies that your pet is disease free and lists all of the vaccines your pet is up to date on. It also includes detailed information about your pet such as age, breed, and microchip information.
Yes, just about every commercial airline will require a pet health certificate. Airlines will vary with the time frame in which a health certificate needs to be obtained for your pet. Some airlines will require a health certificate within 14 days of travel while some will recommend the certificate be obtained within 10. Some airlines have their own forms that will need to be filled out in addition to a health certificate. This will be your responsibility to see if additional forms other than the health certificate are required. You must let me know 10 days prior to pickup so that my vet has plenty of time to fill out the paperwork.
If you are driving you will not need a health certificate.
